Look Magazine

Look Magazine

In December 2011, for 2 weeks I did a work placement for Look Magazine. It was a great experience as I met some amazing people and people who really inspired me working in the industry. It was great to meet people who knew what they were doing with fashion and could give me more insight. During that two weeks I was lucky enough to be taken on a photo shoot for the High Street section. It was a lot of fun assisting on the shoot, helping the models dress and have their outfits prepared for us and the food that we were given was AMAZING. The best part of the job was being able to rummage through all the clothes and accessories when an item needed to be found, I had a chance to look at the new trends and key pieces for the season which perfect as my wardrobe needed updating !
I would recommended applying for a place at Look Magazine, although they are fully booked for a while it's worth a shot, you never know there could be a cancellation just waiting for you to take it !

Paris ! 14th - 16th February 2012

Fashion Capital of the World:
I just got back from being in one of the most inspiring places in the world for Fashion. There are so many different styles and lots of designer wear ! My trip gave me the opportunity to visit Premiere Vision which is The World's Premier Fabric Show. Many companies all over the world come to premiere to showcase their fabric designs and show their portfolios, it enables businesses, buyers and students to take a look at the fabrics and choose ones they would like for their companies. There is also a short film which lasts about 10 minutes that tells you the trends that will be around next year. I learnt the trends for Spring/Summer 2013. Unfortunately pictures weren't allowed to be taken.. but i did get one of the Notre Dame ! Premiere Vision - Paris

Welcome :)

Hey ya'll,

Just to introduce myself, I'm Lauren, I'm 18 and from London. I am currently a Fashion and Textile student at the University of Kent. I decided to start a blog to share with everyone my love for fashion. I have been involved with fashion intensely for the last 12 months and have gained experience through working for different companies (you will find out more through the next couple of posts). I have been to new places to see what the fashion industry brings to us and have explored different trends and styles, which is what I am going to share with you from now on !
I will keep you updated with further post shortly !
Welcome to my blog and I hope you enjoy :)

Peace out xx
